The success rate of root canal therapy has tremendously increased over the years owing to various advancements in the field. One main reason is the complete understanding of the microbiology involved in the endodontic pathology. Biofilms have been implicated as the chief culprit in the etiopathogenesis of dental caries and periodontal disease.
